Capacity Building of PRIs

KARMI has been imparted capacity building training for the strengthen the Gram Sabha & PRI institutions through capacity building of representatives as Sarapach, Samitimembrs, and the members of youth clubs and women organizations. Both women and men were participated with equal importance for the extensive knowledge, experience and understanding of the functioning and roles of the Panchayati Raj institutions and Gram Sabha in the operational areas. Further, it was an advantage for the field level staff to provide hands on support to the organization in the process of capacity building and strengthening the Gram Sabha for participating in decision making process of PRI. KARMI also conduct capacity building for the field level staff /Animators on three tier system of PRI/opportunities for the proven experience in conducting and delivering capacity-building/awareness training courses for the community members.

Apart, this has helped them proven experience in capacity building for social audit and village institution development. Despite years of intervention at all levels, policies and programs have not recognized the importance of improving PRI and choice among young people and the importance of youth leadership in shaping India's future. Efforts have not been initiated to translate this commitment into practice in promoting youth leaders what is needed is a similar level of commitment to ensuring that programs do indeed reach young people that the scope and content of programs are expanded, and promising lessons are assimilated and scaled up.The project aims at developing a capacity building vision and policy for the PRIs in Odisha, and focuses on bringing about a behavioural change among the elected representatives and government officials at the grassroots for good governance.
